Today, the corruption in the ruling Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is all too obvious. Its officials’ morale has dropped to an unprecedented low. The morality of Communist officials may be worse than that of feudalism. In the past, it was said “one person is the official, his clan will get benefits“ and today it is still the same, proving that the society under the Communists is no better than the society under the feudal period.
Everyone sees the corruption of the CPV, however, its members are not willing to be good people, to make the Party better. They think that other people can corrupt, why don’t they do the same, and so they compete with each other. Their salaries are modest but they have enough money to send their children to study abroad, even buy a house or buy a permanent residence in many foreign countries.
Nguyen Phu Trong’s idea when he became General Secretary was to mend the torn holes of the Communist Party. In 2011, he was elected General Secretary by the party and he has been working on patching holes for the Party since then. At that time, the huge net of the Party was being torn by a giant orcas, which was none other than thenr Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
In fact, in the 2011-2016 period, Trong could not patch anything, but he was only worried about chasing the orca fish out of the net. It took him 5 years, sacrificing the bravest soldier, Nguyen Ba Thanh, until 2016, Trong was able to remove PM Dung from the political arena.
Thought that if he could chase the orca Dung far away, the Party’s net would stop tearing, however, Dung was not a medium sized fish. Before leaving politics, he appointed a series of juniors throughout the provinces and cities throughout the country, and even, he installed his people in the party and in the government. After Mr. Trong eliminated Dung, he proceeded to purge the juniors that Mr. Dung reinstalled. However, until now, Mr. Trong’s furnace has been burned forever. Some people have been favored by Mr. Dung and entered the country’s Four Pillars.
Fixing the party is the intention of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. However, the fact that Mr. Trong wanted to patch up the Party became destructive to the Party. He destroyed Vietnam’s economy like soy sauce. Trong’s kiln-burning campaign has now caused inactivity within the Party. Sit and observe and wait for time, when forced, do perfunctory, if not forced, do not do.
If we say that the Communist government apparatus is a body, then this body is lazy, lying still and not wanting to move. This situation is pressing on the shoulders of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. And so far, PM Chinh has not found any effective remedy to treat this condition.
An internal source assessed that most of the officials are currently waiting for Nguyen Phu Trong to die or withdraw from the political scene for them to rise up. Given the state of Trong’s health, it is unlikely that he will live much longer. This person assessed, as long as his political career ends, the corruption of state officials will emerge like mushrooms after the rain. They are waiting for the day when Trong is no longer General Secretary.
Someone assessed, Nguyen Phu Trong hit the mouses with a stick, not with drugs, or by any other mass method. The number of corrupted officials he knocked out compared to millions of officials with Party cards, is a small number. They hid in the cave waiting for the day when Mr. Trong no longer held a stick, the rats would come out of the cave and it would wreak more havoc than before.
What is wrong with this regime is wrong in political institutions. That is the root of the problem. However, Nguyen Phu Trong is very conservative. He did not accept that this institution makes officials corrupted, so he killed the rats manually. As a result, the number of rats does not decrease, but on the contrary, he trained them to better respond to the party’s anti-corruption campaigns.
